Meet Latoya Ade

Built on the belief that your event should actually look like yours.

Oak & Magnolia Events was founded by Latoya Ade — a DFW-based event planner, stylist, and first-gen Nigerian American with a background that most planners don't have: corporate project management and Agile methodology.

Before building Oak & Magnolia, Latoya spent years in corporate environments managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects — the kind where timelines are non-negotiable, communication has to be precise, and nothing falls through the cracks. She took all of that and brought it into event planning, where most people are running on instinct and hoping for the best.

The name came from the work itself. Oak: strong, grounded, built to carry weight. Magnolia: graceful, refined, worth noticing. That's the standard held for every event — not just beautiful, but structured to run flawlessly from start to finish.

The business started with decor. And it was good. But the gap kept showing up — clients would bring in a separate planner, and the two visions never quite aligned. The florals didn't match the timeline. The setup didn't reflect the design board. The right hand didn't know what the left was doing. That's what Oak & Magnolia Events was built to fix.

When the Weekend Is the Event

Some events don't fit a standard planning template. Ours aren't built to.

Multi-day celebrations. Ceremonies with their own protocol. Coordination that starts long before the first event begins. There's a difference between a planner who needs to be walked through it and one who already knows which day carries the most weight, why the aso-ebi list needs its own timeline, and what it actually means when the weekend runs from Friday to Sunday. That depth doesn't come from a briefing. It comes from experience at a level most planners haven't reached.
